Paying Taxes does not Mean being registered to the Voters list
Please note that paying taxes to the Eastern Townships School Board does not mean you are automatically registered on the English-language school board voters list. To check to see if you are on the list, call the Director General of Elections for Québec at:
1 888 ÉLECTION (1 888 353-2846)
To make a request to be placed on the ETSB voters list, fill out the Notice to the Returning Officer.

FAQ on School Taxation
The annual school tax bill is mailed to all registered property owners. Please note that if your property is valued at less than $25,000, you will not receive a bill and will not have to pay anything.
Do you own multiple properties?
You must make a payment for each of the invoices you receive. This is because each reference number is linked to a property, not to the owner.
Have you sold your property or purchased a new one?
Please note: Your invoice reference number will be different from the one stored on your financial institution’s website. You must enter your new reference number.
To pay your bill, you have three options:
1️⃣Through your financial institution: At the service counter, ATM, by phone, or online via bill payment.
2️⃣By mail: By mailing the pre-addressed envelope included with your tax bill.
3️⃣At ETSB’s board office: In person, by check or cash only.
Payment by your mortgage lender:
The school board does not send any copies of the tax bill to the mortgage lender. You must send your school tax bill to the lender so that they can make the payment.
It is the property owner’s responsibility to ensure that the tax bill is paid by the due date.
