Kindergarten for 4-year-olds

It’s all about the art of PLAY!
The kindergarten for 4 year-olds program, developed by the Ministry of Education, helps all children develop fully, providing them with challenges adapted to their needs and interests. In the program, which focuses on play, children learn in ways that enable them to express themselves, try new things, organize their thoughts and develop their understanding of the world around them.
In kindergarten for 4-year-olds, children develop a love of learning alongside a teacher and another qualified education professional who is specialized in the development of preschool children. This professional, who could be, for example, a special education technician or a childcare educator, will be present in the class as a support for the teacher.
A team of professionals made up of a resource teacher, a speech therapist, a psychologist and a psychoeducator, among others, can also be present in the school to work with children who have special needs. This team also collaborates with the child’s teachers and family members, who are considered essential allies, and crucial to the child’s educational success.
The kindergarten 4 year-old program provides more support and access to more professional help than our original part-time pre-k program.
